Validation Toolkit crashing CS5...HELP ME REMOVE IT...

So, I tried to install Validation Toolkit 235 on my new CS5. It crashed the CS5 Extension Manager mid-install, and the extension is not showing as an installed extension in the EM. Even better, when I open DW CS5, I now get an error message related to the incompleted attempt to install the Validation Toolkit extension - it says it can't locate the Memento javascript code, which makes sense because the code was never installed (it crashed before then).

I now know ValToolkit 235 isn't CS5 compatible. But, I want the vestiges of it that were installed removed from my CS5, so I don't keep getting the error message on every program start, please.

I'd like to buy the upgraded version, and the web chart extension too. But, I first want to know that WA can fix this. (=

--------EDIT--------

A few other things to note:
1. I'm running CS5 on a Win 7 64-bit box.
2. Deleting to .dat file has no effect; the error still occurs when booting DW.

Resolved...

Took more than just deleting the .dat file, but I resolved it. I removed all WA directories and files inside the appdata user directory. Voila.

Well...

Kind of resolved. Deleting all the WA files allows DW CS5 to boot without the WA Memento error, and everything else worked fine.

I then purchased the FormAssist upgrade (and another extension). Guess what? The FormAssist extension **ALSO** crashes the Extension Manager, and puts me back at square one.

I'd normally just pass on the extension and move on, but I used the darned thing in CS4 to validate most of my pages. Guess that'll teach me. So, I have to solve this.

Given that no one else in the forums seems to have experienced this issue (and I can't be the only one running CS5 on a Win7 64-bit box), I'm guessing something went wrong with my CS5 installation.

Now uninstalling, deleting all CS5 traces, and then reinstalling CS5. God only knows if this will work, or if I'm wasting yet more time.

I really wish my old computer hadn't died. Upgrading is a PITA.

Th quickest way to get back to a fresh install of dreamweaver is to Delete the configuration folder form the user profile.

See the following document for locating the configuration folder:
common_installation_issues.pdf

instead of deleting the dat file in the configuration folder, delete the entire configuration folder, Dreamweaver will create a new one if it does not exist.

Thanks Jason...

I forgot about that.

In case it matters, the long way (uninstall, reboot, manually delete all Adobe CS folders that remain, then reinstall) works too. (=

Got it all up and running. Looking forward to playing around with the web chart extension.

Thank you!
