pages are grayed out

pages are grayed out

I am running CS5 on XP fully updated. In the DataAssist step 1 dialogue box, the table, key column, and all of the pages are grayed out. I have just installed the DataAssist extension. So I cannot designate anything to work with in DataAssist. I am wondering whether CS5 compatibility has anything to do with the problem. When I installed, it asked the peculiar question whether I should install older files over new ones. Thank you.

If you don't have a connection set up all the options will be disabled. You should set up a connection to the database and then try going through the DataAssist wizard again.

grayed out Data Assist page 1

In addition, I have set up both a local host and a remote host. They both work in other extensions such as the Membership. My PHP is working normally in other pages. I have tried creating PHP pages with my dwt for the pages, but I cannot select them. I cannot select any of the pages with the check box. Thanks for looking at this.

before starting the DataAssist wizard, make sure you have completed the following steps.

1) Create a Dynamic Site in Dreamweaver:
dynamic_site_definitions.php

2) Create a database connection in Dreamweaver:
creating_db_connection.php

3) Create a new php page and save it to the Dreamweaver site you created.

With the new php page open, start the DataAssist wizard.

From the Connection list, select the Database connection you created.

server problem solved

Jimmy,

Thanks for your response. After your input, I double checked the connection to my local server and was able to eliminate the grayed out fields. With regard to the remote server, it turns out, for security reasons, that I was set up on Godaddy's server that does not allow "backdoor" updates through Dreamweaver. So the Data Assist wizard will not work without my changing servers. But this is no problem. I will use the local server to test. Thanks for your help.
