Should I use this product please?

Guys, I have a customer for whom I am building a CMS site using Power CMS which is progressing OK.

My customer wants people to see the home page and then have to register to get a username and password in order to see the rest of the site. I am assuming this product does that. Does it?

Also will it work in conjunction with Power CMS as they both need a database. Do they use the same one?

Look forward to hearing.

Ian

Yes, if you want to restrict certain pages to those that are registered, then User Registration Solution Pack will work for you. They shouldn't interfere as they use different database tables or you could always create a different database for each to double make sure.

It does the job very well if you stay inside given standards as for address info and so on. But if your user try register with lets say a foreign zip code (less than 5 or more than 10 digits), it won't work, unless you know how to make hacks in the script.

Power CMS Conflict

Guys,
I have installed the USer Registration system to my site and am following the Getting Started Pdf.

I have imported the database tables into the Power CMS one. I have modfied the WA_Globals file although of course there are now 2 so I modified the WA_Globals (2) which came with the User Reg.

It is also worth noting there are rather a lot of WA file duplicates now

I then moved to stage 4, accessing the Admin area. Typing admin brings me up the CMS admin.

Any idea of how I get the User Reg admin to show up?

I suspect the duplication of files will also cause a problem later on...can I merge them>

each solution pack will need tot be installed in it's own directory. for example:

UserRegistration

and
PowerCMS

they cannot be merged into the same directory.
