Data not inserting to database

My configuration consist of DreamWeaver CS5, WebAssist latest version of form builder and MySQL 5.00. I've created the Site, the form and SQL database, however when I complete and submit the form (contact form), no data is written to the table in sql.

The connection is good, the recorrd set is in place and all looks good, however no records are getting to the table.

What have i missed?

Form builder does not set up the behavior to insert the posted form elements into the database or send it out through email. It is just a tool to design a form and doesn't have the tools to manipulate the data that is entered into the form. To insert the information into your database, you will have to either hand write the code to insert the posted values into the database or use an extension that will write the behavior for you, like DataAssist.

No, there is not a tutorial for creating a form using Form Builder and suing DataAssist to insert the form information to a database, but it is a fairly easy thing to accomplish.

Just make sure the forms action is set to post to itself and that the forms method is set to POST.

then go to the Server Behaviors panel (Window -> Server Behaviors).

Click the plus button and select WebAssist -> DataAssist -> Insert Record -> Single Record Insert

Set the trigger to Use either any form post or currant page submit.

Choose your database connection and the table the data will be inserted to.

On the second page of the Insert Record Wizard, select each column from your database, then click the lightning bolt and select the corresponding form field.
