update record with data assist>how to handle digital file pro

I have an insert record form which includes 4 file fields for uploading images with digital file pro.
Want the user to be able to update the information including changing the images. I have the update page form populated from a recordset that pulls the record ID. I am using 4 file fields for the images.

My question is how do i give the user the ability to update the images with a file field and if they do not want to update the image, then the blank file field doesn't erase the server file path already in the record?

thanks

for each file field, create a hidden form element to hold the file name that is in the database.

In digital file pro, bind the Default File to the hidden form element.

In the update record server behavior, bind the files name columns to the Uploaded Files A(File Field Name) -> Server file name.

This is covered in the "Applying File Upload to DataAssist Insert and Update pages" tutorial on the Universal Email support page:
