"undefined error" when setting up MySql connection

I have read other threads whereby Dream Weaver CS4 is returning an "undefined error" when trying to connnect to local or remote MySQl database. Mine is remote (with godaddy) they have given me the ip address and location, I have not set up the table but I thought the Secure ASsist Wizard would. I cannot connect and keep getting this error.
My Secure ASsist Wizard is also greyed out completely ...is that related because I cannot connect ?

Security Assist will not create the database or the users table for you, you must create the database and users table before running the security assist wizard.

the undefined error can have many different causes.

How is the testing server tab of your site definition configured?

It can often be problematic to connect to a remote servers database within Dreamweaver, this is one reason we suggest using a local testing server for development.

See the Learning resources page for details on setting up a local testing server and setting up your Dreamweaver site for dynamic development:
resources.php

the security assist wizard will be grayed out until you have configured a dynamic site in Dreamweaver, and created a dynamic page that is saved to the dynamic site. Have the new dynamic page open in Dreamweaver before running the wizard.

Thanks this was very helpful to this newbie. Using Xampp was way easier. I had Wamp on my pc but databases were much easier to set up with php my admin in Xampp. Once I had my test server set up properly and followed your suggested reading everything went smoothly.
Cheers

Security Pages

I tried twice building the security pages on blank forms, and just got unexplained errors.

Very disappointing product.

What are the exact errors you get? What are you doing when you get the errors? Do you have a sample file or a url where we can see the problem? I'm sure we can help you figure it out if you give us more to work with.
