Can movies be added to Powerstore?

Can movies be added to Powerstore?

I'm looking to add a video introduction of the site into the homepage, probably in the middle section below the welcome text.

I've scoured the forum to see if there is any help on this, but haven't found anything.

Are there any solutions?

Hiya sp,

WebAssist does not currently have a solution for putting video on web pages, but there is no reason why you shouldn't put video where you want it.

There are a load of applications out there that will help you to do this. Until recently most players embedded flash movies, but now - with HTML 5 in the pipeline, and with Adobe and Apple at loggerheads, it would make sense to use a solution that is likely to be fairly future-proof, and will be as friendly to Apple gizmos as it is to Windows users.

Probably the easiest non-app solution would be to just upload your video(s) to a you-tube account, and then take the embed code straight from the you-tube page and paste it into your site page where you want it to appear.

That way you get the video presenting on your web-site, and also get a wider audience and (hopefully) more hits by having the video on You-tube. At the moment, WebAssist uses You-tube for their own video presentations.

Post back if I haven't made sense or you need help.

As Neilo said, PowerGallery currently does not support video uploading and display and we do not offer any other solutions for this either. It may be integrated into a future release of the PowerGallery, but I'm not sure if it is planned yet. If you post in the Wishlist forum to request video support for PowerGallery, that would allow the product development team to see it.

Thanks fellas

Thanks for the info - saves me a lot of time trying!
I will add it to the wish list as many shopping sites are looking to add video promotions.
Whilst You Tube is helpful in this, I personally think that it's more professional embedded in your own site. I think the growing demand for this (I've had four enquiries in the last week alone!) should necessitate addition to the Web Assist portfolio!

Cheers,

Sid
