when note added send to recordset

Hi,

i have been looking at the getting started guide again for UE but cannot see how i would achieve what i need.

probably simple so hope someone can get back to me asap on this.

Basically i have created a notes page on my clients site and when a note is added i want the note to be sent to 2 people.

1. the user who logged it
2. the other administrator

I clicked create email message and specified when the button was pressed. I put in the email settings but no email was ever sent.

I am not sure how i would get it to email the notes part of the form also.

hope someone can help.

many thanks

When setting this up you should either use the 'include new file' option or craft the message body by clicking on the DW icon. Which option did you choose? If you create the page yourself you will need to add the binding for your memo field to the message page.

Once you have configured the message body check on the trigger that is being used. It should be based on the submit button from the form being pressed.

As a test of UE you could just add it to a new page and not use any variables, just fill it in with static values. Then run the page to test out the email and see if it is sent.

Hi Eric,

i have tried this with blank page and still nothing sends.

Security assist email sends no problem and i have a form that uses ADDT in the site that sends email also.

i used one of the templates in the wizard as a test.

also in another post i have put up i am having problems with download server behaviour. it adds code but does not create a digital file pro folder and when i change this to:

webassist\file_manipulation\helperphp.php

still nothing happens?

tried uninstalling and re downloading UE4 from my downloads and installing again but wont work??

thanks

Do you have Digital File Pro or any previous versions of Universal Email installed? You will need to ensure that you completely uninstall any previous versions of these extensions before installing UE 4.

When you add the 'create email message' server behavior and choose to create a file and select from one of the styles it will use this file for the body of the message. The code in this file will take all of the posted values from your form and list them out one at a time. You should check to ensure that you have all of the other versions uninstalled, then run a simple test with a small form on the page that has the method set to post and the action blank. When you add in the Universal Email server behavior make sure that the trigger is set to button pressed then test out the form. You should receive an email with the values entered into the form.
