Changing the size of thumbnails on product results page

Thread began 6/14/2010 10:22 am by anita_vlcek298513 | Last modified 6/17/2010 7:00 pm by Jimmy Wu | 1002 views | 7 replies |

Changing the size of thumbnails on product results page

Hello,

I need to make the thumbnails of my products on the product results page smaller than they are now. How can I do this? I know the uploaded image is being re-sized somewhere in the code but I can't find where.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you go into your Products_Insert.php page in the Admin directory, you will want to find the code that looks like this:

php:
<?php
// WA_UploadResult1 Params Start
$WA_UploadResult1_Params = array();
// WA_UploadResult1_1 Start
$WA_UploadResult1_Params["WA_UploadResult1_1"] = array(

'UploadFolder' => "../imagesupload/",

'FileName' => "[FileName]",

'DefaultFileName' => "",

'ResizeType' => "1",

'ResizeWidth' => "400",

'ResizeHeight' => "400",

'ResizeFillColor' => "#FFFFFF" );
// WA_UploadResult1_1 End
// WA_UploadResult1 Params End
?>
<?php
// WA_UploadResult2 Params Start
$WA_UploadResult2_Params = array();
// WA_UploadResult2_1 Start
$WA_UploadResult2_Params["WA_UploadResult2_1"] = array(

'UploadFolder' => "../imagesupload/",

'FileName' => "[FileName]",

'DefaultFileName' => "",

'ResizeType' => "1",

'ResizeWidth' => "200",

'ResizeHeight' => "200",

'ResizeFillColor' => "#FFFFFF" );
// WA_UploadResult2_1 End
// WA_UploadResult2 Params End
?>

This is where the resizing is done for your images. You will have to make other modifications to get the layout to display the way you want with the smaller images though.

I was having quality issues on another thread a while back and was trying to find where the images were being resized. I'm assuming the second part is for the thumbs where the resize is 200. If my thumbs are 150 x 150, for example, does it do anything? Or is this just for when images are larger than these values?

It will not increase the width or height of the image that you are uploading if it is smaller than the resize width and height.

Thank you for your reply Jimmy. I altered the script as you instructed but the thumbnail on my Product Results page is still the same size as before. Is there any other code within PS 3 that affects the resizing?

Thanks for your help.

OK I figured it out, it's working perfectly. Sorry, I didn't realize I had to re-upload all my images so the new re-sizing command could be applied. Thanks so much for your help!

No problem. Sorry, I should have specified that it was just the newly uploaded images that would be affected by that code. If you run into any additional issues, feel free to open a new thread.

One thing I forgot to mention is that you will have to make the change to the Products_Update.php page as well.
