Changes to template aren't applied

Hello,

I just purchased PS 3 and am trying to change the design. My problem is that the changes I make to the template (main.dwt.php) don't appear on the pages (index, etc.).
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

The index page is not based on the template.

Changes should be directly to the index page.

To make use of the template editing features in Dreamweaver, the PowerStore files must be at the root of the Dreamweaver site.

Dreamweaver will expect to find the template folder at the Root of the site, if it is not at the root of the site, then the template edits cannot be properly applied to the pages.

how to make main.dwt.php changes apply to non index.php pages

In main.dwt.php I made changes to the color for the left side menu --

approx line 163:
div.setAttribute('style',"background-color:#FFCC99; color: white; border-top:0px;");
div.style.cssText = "background-color:#FFCC99; color: white; border-top:0px;";

The changes are saved in the .dwt.php but have not affected the Product_Results.php file and other files as I expected?

How do you get the main.dwt.php to update the files associated with it?

inconsistent region names

OK, but when I do that I get this Inconsistent region names and I can't get it go past that. I'm attaching a picture of the outcome.

All I have changes is a color in the php code area.

Your suggestions?

I'm sending the main.dwt.php file in a zip.
You can see it at PowerStore301/
After I did the apply now the Products does not work at all. It was working before I applied the dwt.
See the picture of what I wanted to change.

I see a lot of errors in your template when comparing it against an unedited template file.

it almost appears as though a template was applied to this template.

How is your Dreamweaver site configured? Are the power store files at the root of the Dreamweaver site or in a subdirectory?

For editing to work correctly, the power store files must be at the root of your Dreamweaver site.
