updating all columns vs updating select columns

updating all columns vs updating select columns

I am using DataAssist with an updater page. Scenario: membership database where members can update most of their own information. However, some fields are just for the office (to mark as paid, new member, etc.) When using the updater by the member user, those fields' contents disappear. This is a database set up issue, I'm sure. I've tried sets, using 'y','n' and enum with '0','1' and experimented with Null and Not Null, but keep striking out. How can I keep the information intact and not let the member user change it?

Thanks!

Resolved! I had merely copied the first updater form instead of creating a new one. By only selecting those fields that were actually needed, instead of all the fields, the user updater form now only updates those fields.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to find the issue and resolve it with the new form. Thanks for posting back on your solution, I'm sure others will benefit from the post.
