Unique order id

I'm using DataAssist to insert a new record into a SQL DB. The ID field in the DB is set to auto-increment, so each record will have a unique number. I need to capture and store this id so that I can include in the Universal Email as well as the confirmation.asp page. What is the recommended method to capture this piece of data after the user submits the form and inserts the new record...simple ASP code, WA Cookie, ?? Please advise.

On the First page of the data assist insert record server behavior look for the section tiled Session Variable. Here you select the ID column and set the name of the session variable that will be created when the record is inserted that contains the ID value.

Make not of the name that is being used.

You can add that session binding to your email to include the ID when it is sent.
