Live Edit layer - methods of disabling?

Hello,

Live edit in PCMS2

I need the facility to disable (and possibly re-enable) the live edit layer, methodological preferences being (in descending order):

Keystroke enable/disable as required (probably wish-list)
Icon to open/close live-edit layer
Option in admin area to switch on/off live edit, effective real-time and in current session
Per admin page open session
Per browser open session
Just disable completely.

Live edit seemed like a great idea when I started using PCMS2, but I'm beginning to see a drawback which is becoming an annoyance!

Because of the way I have designated editable areas, once the admin pages of the CMS have been accessed, and the live edit layer automatically kicks in, I am no longer able to navigate normally through the sites pages (there are only two in my demo site).

The page is a bit overrun with menus, but the page is for demo purposes and I want them to stay [i]and[/] be included as individual editable areas. As the site is extended to accomodate other demo pages, I will need the menus to be active and clickable while the admin pages are open (or have been open).

I can't currently access the links or navigate between pages as the links are behind the edit layer. I currently have to open both FireFox and another browser side-by-side to be able to easily manage a multiple area update session.

In my list above, the top one is a feature request, the others are in order of what I would like now.

What's my best option, and how do I achieve it?

There is an argument to the cms function on the page that you can pass to disable the live edit.

If you add ", true" to the WA_getCMSContent() function it will not show as live edit enabled.

Another hidden feature is that you can then add:

<?php echo($GLOBALS['WAPCMS_HIDDEN']); ?>

somewhere on the page to show a list of all of the cms content that has in context editing disabled in this way in order to provide edit links in another location.
