in product preview

I have purchased your library services and when I open Menu Writer and Pro. Assist the image files do not show up in the preview window. They will show if I use the explorer browser, but I didn't sign up to get half of a product. I uninstalled all the extensions and reinstalled them, even deleted the .dat file to take precautions and nothing has worked.

Any suggestions here.

Thanks.

This is a similar message that was submitted by someone else that never got a response. I am waiting for some type of help here, tech support.

You should definitely be able to see a preview in the preview area for any of the tools. Check on the preview status by going to Edit > WebAssist Preferences, in here check on the preview, make sure the check box is not set to disabled.

If the preview is not disabled and you do not see it when running through the wizard please post back and include the OS that you are using, and the version of DW that you are working with. I will ensure that a ticket is opened for you so the issue can be looked into further.

I am using Dreamweaver CS4 Version 10 and my OS is Windows 7. I have went back into each program, Theme It, Menu Writer, CSS Sculptor, and Site Assist, all programs show "Click here to open preview" message. I have disabled the preview to see if this is the problem and it will display that the preview is disabled in the preview page, so this is not the problem. I have unchecked this box again, and it still displays the open browser message.

I have uninstalled both dreamweaver and webassist and get the same results.

* For the record, this program was fine about a three weeks ago; just stopped working. I have not added any new software or changed any config. on the computer. I did update Surveyor, I think this was the last update you sent.

I checked the ticket and there was no resolution to this issue. The last suggestion was to try to rename the configuration folder to have it be recreated and undo any corruption that may have occurred.

To do this follow the steps here and make sure to remove the extensions and install them again afterwards:

I tried all that (above) to no avail, (running as a user account under OSX 10.6.7, CS3, CSSMenuWriter205) so I experimented by logging in as Admin and creating a fresh Dreamweaver web site and installing the MenuWriter extension I then got what was expected - namely in the 'Preview' window I could see a representation of the menu. So, thinking I had solved the problem went back to my user account, but I still get the dreaded "click here to preview in a browser" message in the center of the 'Preview' field, and nothing else.

Does Dreamweaver need to be run as Admin for the Preview to work correctly?

Thanks,

Yes, Administrator privileges are needed for the preview to be created.

Is there any way to run Dreamweaver under admin mode while still be a regular 'user'? This is for OSX 10.6.5

All I can think of is to change the my user mode to admin level totally, I run DW in a window constantly so I can update the web site whenever I feel like it.

Thanks,

After spending too much time, and trying a number of ideas I ended up finding the solution - for my situation of no preview available for CSS Menu Writer. I uninstalled Dreamweaver completely- using the Dreamweaver application after deactivating DW-CS3, and uninstalled all the extensions.
Then I rebooted (probably not needed, but I like a clean start) and installed Dreamweaver as an Adminstrator. Previously I had installed DW CS3 as a user and simply used the Admin password during the installation period. Now the Preview works properly and I am running as user with Admin privs.
Next to see if I reset my user back to non-Admin privs and see if it works...(pause while I go and reboot computer)...YES I now have Preview as a regular User.

Not sure if I needed to change to Admin privs for the user, but certainly installing DW CS3 as the Administrator appeared to be the main requirement for solving this problem.
