Validation Toolkit 2.3.5 has problems

Validation Toolkit 2.3.5 has problems

I'm not sure if anyone else has these problems or not. I have a new PC, clean install of CS4, and latest version of the extension.

When I add client side validation to a form, the following problems occur:

1) I can no longer edit the validation in the dialog pop-up. When I click the Webassist Client Validation button, it's all empty, as if I'm doing it for the 1st time - even though the page is full of WA validation code.

2) The code it adds to the OnSubmit attribute: it uses the format: document.forms[0].location instead of the actual form name, like: document.form1.location - the validation doesn't work AT ALL until I change all the forms[0] code to form1 (or whatever the name of the form is).

3) Dropdown list validation - I seem to recall validation for this element as having a "don't allow 1st selection", which now does not appear available.

What's going on with this?

Any help?

Thanks!

Could you attach your page so I can take a look at it? I'm using the latest version of the extension and don't have the issue where entering the client validation doesn't inspect the previously applied validation code correctly.

Validation toolkit has always referenced the forms using the forms array. Not sure why you would have an issue with it.

As far as I can recall, there isn't a don't allow first selection option. The validations are based off the value, not where it is in the select list.

Thanks

Jimmy,

Thanks for the reply. After closing DW and redoing the page, it now works. Not sure what was going on....

Thanks again.

Its good to hear that its working now. I'm not sure what the cause of the issue was before. If you run into any additional issues, feel free to open a new thread.
