Changes to PowerStore 3 Code

Guys and gals, if you could direct me please-as how to make these changes to the site:

1. Can I remove the "Coupon Code" from the cart.php page without screwing up the site?

2. Is there a way to change the entire top header with a page size .png without pushing the php buttons all over the page?

3. Is there a way to add a "Bookmark this Page" function button and script to the site?

4. Is there a way to add a "Send as a Gift" function button and script to the site?

5. Is there a way to add additional shipping options or show shipping costs prior to checkout?

any help would be appreciated - thanks

You can remove the coupon code from the cart page without any effect on the functionality. You can alter the top header image from within the main.dwt template file, in here you can alter any of the common design elements that you see across the front end pages. It uses standard css for the formatting so you can use whatever image you would like and you will be able to make any adjustments to the css that you need to.

If you have a bookmark this page script you can put it into the main template, or you can just add it in to any of the pages content areas. There is no feature of the store that allows you to add this option automatically.

There is no send as gift functionality built into PowerStore, it might be possible to add this in but that would be a custom endeavor.

It is technically possible to add in other shipping options or to calculate the shipping before you get to the confirm page but how to go about it all depends on exactly what you would like to do. If you want to add in your own shipping rules you can set it up to display those charges on the cart page. If you are using the shipping quotes from UPS or FedEx you will not be able to see the shipping charges until you get to the confirm page.

Eric, thanks for the reply..and I understand all but two.
1. As for the "send as a gift" functionality, could you steer me as to how I could get someone to do it for me as my coding skills are that of a child? The javascript and regular css stuff I can handle but I don't have a clue about how to add it.

2. We are using USPS - Could you explain how I could set up these rules or steer me to someone who could? Do I use ECart or something to augment?

In regards to the gift functionality of the store you could post here on the jobs board to see if someone is familiar with this type of thing and setting it up for you. The same goes for the shipping if this is something that you need some help with.

How exactly would you like the shipping to be setup and the charges for it? If you can explain a little about your specific criteria we might be able to help you get things started.
