Dropdown list resetting to default - Dataassist

Dropdown list resetting to default - Dataassist

I have created a DB with a dropdown list that populates a record. Problem is it works perfect when there are just 50 characters, but when any more than 50 are added it resets the dropdown list to the default of 'select' after I perform an update, then goto results, then detail page. any solutions why this might happen?

in your events table, the category_eng column is set as a varchar column with a maximum length of 50 characters.

In the category_tbl table, the category_type column is set to be a text column which can hold thousands of characters.

That worked perfect - I overlooked the character length in that table.

Thanks for help.
