Australia Post

Hi

Im having a bit of trouble connecting or implementing the Australia Post shipping option in ecart.

What im trying to do is have a website that has a backend admin, so the user can add products into the website. I would like to have this user add in the dimension to each products via form feilds (Length, Width, Height and weight). I have done this and updates the database successfully.

I would like to now connect this to ecart so i can get a quote from Australia Post.

My attempt:
- I added some additional colums to ecart (Length, Width, Height and used the total Weight that already exist).
- I then connected the database feilds to the ecart (Add to cart) button via the binding tab.
- I then opened the checkout.php page and added the Austrlia Post shipping server behaviour.
- On the last tab I connected the Length to the ecart length and so on for the width and height. I left weight as the default.
- Ecart successfully added Australia Post in the shipping tab in the object.

I uploaded and I dont get an error message, dosnt seem to do anything? The shipping on the confirmation page dosent display. So i assum that im geting a $0 calculation.
I then reopened the ecart shipping rate request and entered numbers on the last step in the Length, Width, Height and Weight, and upload and still dosnt do anything?

Any Help would be muchly appriciated

I do appologies in regards to a long message but I wanted to display all that I had done to give you a clear concept.

Thanks

on what page did you apply the shipping rate lookup behavior?

go to the bindings panel, there should be a binding group for the Australia post shipping lookup.

Drag the ful response and full request bindings to your page to see what is being returned from them.

Hi Jason - Thanks for your reply

I applied the shipping rate lookup behavior on the checkout page to display on the confirm page.

I applyed the Australia post Shipping lookup functions on the confirm page but keep getting the message "No Packages to Ship". I have gone into the set up panel and changed the details to include Packaging and other changes but still get the message?

Any Ideas?

Thanks

I have been trying a few things but still stuck.

I decided to redo the cart object and display manager along with the checkout.
I have it all working until I click on the check out button on the cart page. This takes me to the shipping quote failed page, with the error "At least one dimension is invalid" Cant seem to get pass this point.

I have changed the dimensions of the height, length and height but still doesnt work??

the shipping rate lookup should be applied to the confirm page, not the checkout page.

Once it has been applied, the bindings panel will have a new binding group for Australia post, on the shipping failure page, bind the full request and Full response to your page so we can see exactly what is being sent and returned.

Jason I have changed the shipping rate to the confirm page using the manager set up. With playing around alittle after i have managed to get it working.

The only part that im not shore about is if a user wants to buy 10 or 50 of the same product how would you calculate this in ecart?

Should it already do this if you select the 1 item per cart in the Australia Post panel?

Thanks again

the quote is bassed on weight, to pass the total weigh of the cart to Australia post, make sure you are using the TotalColumn function for the TotalWeight:

$CartName->TotalColumn("TotalWeight");

Thanks Jason got it working farely good now thanks to you. Theres just one more thing.

Is there anyway to get a quote for each item seprate and add them together at the confirm page? My items keep on exceeding past the 20kg limit.

So for example, if a user wants more than 5 of an item that weighs in at 5kg then it errors, saying "Invalid weight parameter"?

Is there anyway we can avoid the limit by quoting on each item seperatly (Quantity and Items) for each order?
