powerstore won't work with my hosting company

during the install, I get an error that I need to enable the database privilege "create view". I couldn't do it on my own through cPanel, so I contacted my hosting company, Powersurge, and they won't allow it, for "security reasons" !?! I'm still fighting with them.

Is there a way for me to work around this on my own?

OR, Webassist promotes 1&1 hosting - if I switch to them, will I still have this problem?

thanks,
David

Sorry didn't realise powersurge was your ISP.

Are you on a linux or window server, several issues have been mentioned on windows servers on the forum so if you are on windows try swapping to linux

Also Easily works here in the UK, but you will need to specify a Linux package.

In the Download center for power store, look in the known issues section. There is a fix there to elminate the need for the Create View privilege.

I am using Linux as far as I know. My host says they have given me the create view privilege, but powerstore is still giving me the "create privilege" error. I will look into the solution you just mentioned.

Thanks.
