format mask

on the registration form I want to use a mask so that the phone number and postcode are automatically put in the uk format ie

(12345) 123456

BS22 7UQ

I thought Ihad found the code for the phone and latered it to

<input name="UserPhone" type="text" class="WAATKTextField" id="UserPhone" onBlur="if (document.getElementById('PhoneServerValidation')) document.getElementById('PhoneServerValidation').style.display='none';WAValidatePN(document.forms[0].S_ProductName,'- Invalid phone number',false,true,'(xxxxx) xxxxxxx',document.forms[0].S_ProductName,0,true)" value="<?php echo(ValidatedField("usersRegistrationfull","UserPhone")) ?>" size="32" />

But this has not worked

any ideas?

Client valiadation does not support the zip or phone number mask you are trying to use, remove the mask by setting '(xxxxx) xxxxxxx' to ''

You will then need to modify the spry validation to use the input mask you wish to use.

To change spry validation settings, select the text box for phone number, then click the blue bounding box labeled "Spry Text Field: sprytextfield<int>" where <int> is a number.

In the property inspector, change the Type list to Phone Number.

you will then need to manually edit the code to apply the mask. if the spry text field is sprytextfield4, the code will look similar to:

var sprytextfield4 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField("sprytextfield4", "phone_number", {validateOn:["blur"], format:"phone_custom", useCharacterMasking:true, pattern:"(00000) 0000000"});

more information on spry form elements can be found here:
