Sending out automatic emails on a weekly basis

Here's the scenario…

Someone purchases a subscription to a 12-week course, each week a new PDF file should be sent out to the purchaser automatically, finishing after the 12th PDF has been sent.

Is this something which Universal Email can handle, or will it require other extensions to be involved in order to get this type of scenario to work?

Cheers,

Craig

Universal Email doesn't have a built in scheduling to send a certain email at x time. You will have to set something like this up yourself. Does the class start at the same time for everyone or is it something that is specific to when the user purchased the class?

Hi Jimmy,

Here's what I would like to achieve:

Let's say I purchased the subscription at 9:30am, I would receive a welcome email instantly followed by a separate email containing a PDF with part 1 of the 12 week course (the PDF may, or may not, be password protected). Parts 2 through 12 would then be emailed to me at the same time each week until the course was complete (after 12 weeks). I would also like to send a follow up email after 1 further week.

Let me know if that doesn't make any sense.

Yes, that makes sense, but Universal Email doesn't have a built in timer to automatically send emails at certain times. You would have to set up something like a cron job to check if an email needs to be sent out and then send the email at that time.
