Plus sign in URL

Plus sign in URL

I am trying to import a site that has URL's/paths to files that have a + (plus sign) substituted for spaces so a url like example.com/path+to+image/folder/filename.jpg is coming back as 404 when SiteImport sends that instead of sending example.com/path to image/folder/filename.jpg which does resolve properly.

Is there an easy way to change a JS file or something in Site Import to sub a plus sign with space or %20?

Any advice is appreciated.

Do the links have spaces or plus signs in them? Does navigating to the pages work with either or? Could you post up the url for the site you are importing so I can give this a test?
