Adding a name to information window

Adding a name to information window

Hello,
I have just purchased the Pro Maps for Google tool and have tested it with a few addresses. I have a distributor list of about 150 that I would like to map.

I started to develop a map of our distributors in Canada by adding each individually, yes I know I can do mulitples but I am not familiar with building a recordset in Dreamweaver on the Apple.

In the information window on the map I could not find a way to put in the name of the distributor. I'm not sure if I am missing something there or if it is not possible out of the box. I see I can customize the window, but the only way I have found to put the name in is to put it behind the address, which looks a little funny.

Alternatively I thought I would post a link on my distributor list page for directions that goes to the spot on the map and I cannot seem to get the link information as it just points to the whole map and not just that location. Again, I think I am just new and missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
CJ

If you are wanting to map multiple locations you should be using a recordset for this. This means that you will first need to have the locations specified in a table in your db. Once you do this you can just add a recordset to your page by going to Server Behaviors > Recordset.

When you have it on the page you can check the show multiple checkbox and select the recordset from the select list.

You can edit the info window by choosing custom from within the interface, when you choose custom you can alter any of the html that is used in the info window and what it says. I'm including a screen shot of this for your reference.

We have a bit of info about using the tool and accomplishing specific tasks on the products support page, here is a link:

Any possible way to add a business name to the search criteria for google maps?

I read the above comment about adding multiple addresses to a database but there should be some way to add the business plus a zip code to allow google to search for that business' locations in that particular zip. Looking at the php script, is there a way to use the business name instead of "full address"?

Thanks guys,

you could have a search form with a business name field, and set up the recordset to filter using the business name form element.
