CSS Menu Writer - No Editor

Thread began 3/10/2010 5:01 pm by support299803 | Last modified 3/11/2010 2:09 pm by support299803 | 942 views | 2 replies |

CSS Menu Writer - No Editor

When I create a new menu using the CSS Menu Writer in Dreamweaver CS3 it creates the menu ok, but there's no way to get to the editor afterwards. I read the previous post about a similar problem, but there were times when they were able to get to the editor. For me it doesn't matter if I create it in a current template, or create the menu on a brand new blank HTML page. When I click on the created menu nothing happens. I'm not given any other options in the Properties window, and no Javascript icon appears on the page.

Thanks for any help!

Check that you have Scripts ticked in 'Invisible Elements'.

Go to DreamWeaver menu > Edit > Preferences > Invisible Elements > check that the 'scripts' checkbox is ticked.

In the page with your menu in it, in design view, you should now be able to click on the script icon to select it, and the CSS Menu Writer option buttons should be available from the properties inspector/panel.

On an HTML page it seems you need the javascript icon to click on. On PHP pages, clicking on the menu seems to be enough.
