when making template changes the Index Page won't update

When I open the SiteassistPro_template.dwt and perform changes it will update all pages except the Index page when I save the changes made.

Example: I add the company name to the Header in the Siteassistpro_template.dwt and it does not change on the index page. Is this normal? I have cleared the cache so that is not the problem........

Please advise.......
Thanks

The index page isn't created using the template, so modifying the template won't cause the index.php page to be modified. If you wanted the template to be applied to the index page as well, you will have to apply that manually.
