Creating a PHP database connection in Dreamweaver CS3

Hi,

I am in last step for preparing my system for dynamic webpage and I need some help.
In the MySQL Connection window I do not know what correct name should I give for “Connection name” filed. I tried different name but I get the error message MySQL Error#: 1045. (See snap shots)
What is the correct Connection name?
Thank you.

The connection name is whatever you want the connection to be called in your site. You can come up with your own name, but it can't be blank.

The error you are getting is that it doesn't seem to recognize your username and password. It appears that there is an error where the password does not get set up correctly when setting up MySQL. Here's a thread that touches on that subject:
mysql_install.html

Hi Jimmy,
Thnaks for your reply.
I will fill up the "Connection name filed" with a name.
The link you pointed is for Windows, I use Mac.
Thanks anyway.

No problem. Make sure that you have a password set up for your database. The error you were getting referred to the login information not being correct.

I found and entered the correct password and it worked.
Thanks.

Thanks Jimmy.
I will soon open a new thread regarding inserting the eCart 5 into my website.
