Problems with Extension Manager

Problems with Extension Manager

I am having problems with uninstalling old versions of my extensions and installing the newest versions. Every time I make an attempt, Extension Manager tells me that Dreamweaver CS3 is using a file, and that I need to close it down and hit Retry or Cancel the uninstall. The problem being that I don't have Dreamweaver CS3 open. I've even gone so far as to check my Windows Task Manager to make sure it is not loaded. The only Adobe product open is the Extension Manager.

When I do manage to succeed with uninstalling an extension and installing the new version, Extension Manager seems to take over my memory so that I have to shut it down and restart to go on to the next one.

I am looking for suggestions to make these installations work. Is there an easier way to uninstall the extensions without the manager?

Note: I do not have problems installing brand new extensions. I do not have problems using the extensions in Dreamweaver CS3 once I do manage to install them.

Any help would be welcome. Thank you.

What operating system are you using? On certain operating systems, using CS3, the extension manager seems to freeze up a lot when uninstalling. Not sure on any suggestions to alleviate the issue though.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit version. Thanks.

Also, what version of extension manager are you using? Are there any updates for the extension manager?

If you don't have too many extensions installed, with Dreamweaver and extension manager shut down you can try renaming the configuration folder (which will cause the extensions to be disabled) and then try installing all the extensions again. Then see if you have the same issue.
