Powerstore v2 menu in IE

Thread began 2/23/2010 12:48 am by paul.urgero235355 | Last modified 2/25/2010 7:01 pm by Eric Mittman | 666 views | 5 replies |

Powerstore v2 menu in IE

The menu on the home page, is fine in Firefox. In IE8, when you mouse over the Product menu and try to mouse down the list, it snaps closed.

When I edit it, I click on the menu in the split screen, and edit the Theme in the Properties window, but when I click on Finish, it opens a few windows, and inserts a new menu. What am I doing wrong, and how do I fix the snapping closed of the menu?

Thanks
Paul

I'm not able to get the same result as you in regards to the default menu in IE8. I'm able to navigate to any of the sub level items without issue. I also tried this in compatibility mode and did not have any troubles.

When it comes to editing the menu I was able to edit the theme for the menu and adjust the colors to be just what I want them to be, then finish and the menu is updated to my new theme.

Please post back and include some steps that you are taking that are giving you these results so that we can try and look into this with you. If you have a link where the problem can be seen in IE8 that would be very helpful.

Try this in IE8. My customer and I both get the same results.

Thanks for the link, it looks like your flash is causing some interference here. If you get rid of the gap it should allow you to scroll down the product and support menus.

To do so you will need to edit the CSSMW > cssmw_home > menu.css file. In here look for the following style:

UL#cssmw_home UL.level-1

Remove the padding-top value from in here and it will bring the sub menus up to main nav. This should prevent the menu from collapsing on you, let us know how this works.

Eric,

That worked perfectly.

Thanks so much for your help!

No problem, you are very welcome. I'm happy to hear that it is working out now.
