Update form without update the images if...

I have a form to update a register ... text and images. All works fine with DA and DFP but ... I have a trouble whith the images filenames ... because, if I dont select the files before proccess the form, the images fields in database are erased. I ask for a solution, I can imagin some like "if file field is empty ... don't update".
