Does UE work with Microsoft Exchange?

Microsoft Exchange is what is set up on my Company server. I have been told that I can't install any other SMTP server for email. I set up my form to use Mail but it's not working for me.

The exchange server probably requires Authentication in order to relay emails, you will need to select one of the mail objects that supports authentication such as CDOSYS in ASP or Pear Mail for SMTP in PHP, check wit the host for the correct username and password to use.

Yes they gave me the username and password but I don't think PEAR is installed on the server. They are telling me "With that server having Microsoft Exchange on it we can't install any other SMTP server for email."

I tried the PEAR option with no success.

I am running PHP and in the past I have hand coded sending mail through the PHP server so I know it can work with my setup.

How come I don't have an authenticate option with the first MAIL for PHP option?

the php mail() function does not support passing authentication. can you send a sample script you have used that works? does this sample script use the same Exchange server?

the sample script may shed some light on what is wrong.
