adding ssl without messing things up

Hi,
I need to do the following:
From the cart page when the customer clicks checkout I want the check out page to be checkout.php. Then when they fill out the form they will go to the confirm which I want as an https page. Is there anything special that I need to do in the coding? I assume that this will change my wacart folder and that will have to be reuploaded...anything else to look out for?
