Adding onmouseout delay to CSS Menu Writer menus

Adding onmouseout delay to CSS Menu Writer menus

I have begun implementing a CSS Menu that was created in CSS Menu Writer. It has 3 levels, since it needs to to represent all of our departments and cover all the bases. The problem is that when you mouse off the menu, it immediately disappears. When you're trying to get to a "level 3" menu, it really is pretty difficult not to "trip" off of the menu. So I'm wondering: does anyone know some fairly simple Javascript to add to this that would provide a few millisecond delay before the menu disappears?
(By the way, I know HTML and CSS but have done very little Javascript programming, other than copying a line here and there. And another detail: I'm pretty sure we're on our own here; I don't think there's any way for me to pay someone to do this for us.)
Thanks for any advice anyone has

Jack
