I don't know too much about them from a personal experience side. I did almost get an account with them before going with Site5. I am extremely thrilled with site5's HostPro+Turbo plan. They have a custom admin that they created that makes it super easy to add new sites and manage them separately. And for 11.95 a month with everything unlimited (and their resource limits aren't unreasonable either), it's been the best deal I have found for some recent extra space I needed. The thing I really love though is that every time I have submitted a support tickets for help, they respond almost within 5 minutes and help me right away - so for that, they get my vote. I do know that Host Gator does have their servers in the same place as Site5, though, which is a facility known as "the Planet".
