Importing database driven pages w/ SI-3.04?

I just imported static site pages from a database driven site. It looks like Site Import creates all the dynamic pages on the fly and imports them as static pages....so that maybe a 20 page site now has 500 pages after downloading. Is that the way SI handles dynamic sites?

Is there anyway to get the original dynamic page(s) with the php script, and an exported sql file from the database with Site Import?

Thanks,
Robert
