I think that you are missing my point. :)
I understand that you don't have a fix yet, however, if a user knows that this issues exists, the fix is easy to code in manually.
The only way for a user to know that this issue exists is to read about it. Fix or not it is a "Known Issue", which is where I would start looking for a solution if I had a problem that was unknown to me.
If that isn't where you want to put it, may I suggest a sticky in this forum that lists the problem and the solution to it. It wouldn't even require users to perform a search for it.. as it would be stuck to the top of the product forum page.
Then once the fix is in place you could remove it. :)
