I found the following bug report on the PHP site:
41350

try creating a new php file named phpinfo. and add the following into it:

php:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>

do you still get this error message? if so, your host is experiencing this bug, they will need to fix it for you.

For the issue with adding items to the cart, on the product detail page, find the following code:

php:
<?php

// WA eCart Redirect
if ($WA_Store_Cart->redirStr != "")     {

header("Location: ".$WA_Store_Cart->redirStr);
}
?>

and change it to:

php:
<?php

// WA eCart Redirect
if ($WA_Store_Cart->redirStr != "")     {

session_commit();

header("Location: ".$WA_Store_Cart->redirStr);
}
?>

for the tax issue, you would need to modify the products table and create a new column for taxable., for taxable items, set the value to 1, for non taxable items set the value to 0.

In the eCart Object, you would need to also create a taxable column.

On the product detail page, update the add to cart button to bind the cart taxable column with the database taxable column from the products recordset.

Then edit the Tac calculation in the eCart object, set the calculation to be "Based on items with a specific value"

Total of "TotalPrice" where "Taxable" has a value of "1" "times" "0.08"

substitute you tax rate.
