add products which are not physical goods

hi,

i have my clients site setup which their sales sell to clients. these products are not physical products they are things like insurance policies etc.

i was wondering how i could implement e cart to allow admins to create, add and mange new and exisiting products.

i need it to fit in with the design of the site currently which has the products listed in tabs on the clients_details.php page generated by data assist.

could anyone point me in right direction with this or can it be done?
