dynamic meta tags using Data Assist

Hi - I can't see why this shouldn't work but I'd appreciate some advice from someone with more experience with php/mysql. Basically I've been asked to put together some php pages to be populated with content (5 or 6 fields max + a photo), but the client wants to be able to add meta tags (keywords & description) so that each page is individual.
My feeling is that I should be able to do this by assigning a field for each of keyword and description and then dropping a tag like this:

<?php echo $row_rsMyDatabase['description']; ?>

into this tag:

<meta name="description" content="Description" />

so the code would then be:

<meta name="description" content="<?php echo $row_rsMyDatabase['description']; ?>" />

(or something along those lines).
Would/should that work?
