Placement of "search form"

How do I add a "binding" (sorry, new to this stuff) and by adding it to each page do you mean that I will have to manually go through every page (that the template is based on) and manually do something? That's over 80 pages. Isn't that what a template saves you from doing--manually doing things over and over!?!?
