Thank you for trying to explain this to me a little further but I'm just not following along. I'm not understanding what you hope to accomplish as an end result and how that compares to what you have now.
When using DataAssist Search you specify the names of the fields that will hold the values you are searching on. If you have a text field that you would like to be a select list that holds values from a recordset you can add in the select list to the page, then name it the same as the text field. To make it dynamic you would need to first create the recordset then using the property inspector you would click on the dynamic button and specify the recordset and the values from that recordset that you would like to populate the select list.
