Installing Web Assist Extensions

OK - I have a suite of WA Ext' products - as I don't always need them all installed (it slows down my DW) I tend to install / uninstall web assist extensions as and when I need them. Plus there is often a new version to install.

I get really confused and concerned because EVERYTIME I install a WA Ext' I get the same warning box saying newer versions of files are already installed / not installed and I just click OK and hope for the best - otherwise I am there for ever having to read lots of dialogue boxes / click OK.

Am I doing wrong / right ????? - Is it the Adobe Extension Manage doing a good job or WA doing a bad job - it's certainly scary when you install a slug of an extension like eCART 4 - which takes absolutely ages?

It makes me wonder that the odd bug or malfunction in Dreamweaver / WA ext's could be to do with overwriting these 'duplicate' files each time.

How I'm I supposed to know which version is the best one?

... any ideas ??
