Recordset data (HTML tags) not rendering correctly on Php page

The HTML that I save into MySQL as text is displaying with the tags instead of rendering properly. I created a recordset with Wbassist/MySQLi, thenused the Bindings/MySQLi Recorset to display the data on the webpage (php/HTML) . The html is being saved correctly in the MySQL database with HTML tags intact. (See attached screenshots)

In the MySQL database ------- (varchar): <strong>Performance Awards</strong>
What is seen in the rendered Web Page ------- <strong>Performance Awards</strong>
Source code from page ---------- <h5>&lt;strong&gt;Performance Awards&lt;&#x2F;strong&gt;</h5>
Page code in Dreamweaver ---------- <p><?php echo ($RsNews->getColumnVal("story2")); ?></p>

From this you can see the the data (HTML with tags) is being converted to special characters as it is being pulled from the database.

This is the first time I have experienced this. I want to add tinyMCE so that my application users have formatting capability (been using tinyMCE for many years)

I tried adding htmlspecialchars_decode() to to the dynamic data on the page, but that only partially work (closing tags didnt render).

I need to find a way to display my HTML data on the page and to render correctly

Ideas?

Thanks,

Mike
