File manager returns blank page

File manager returns blank page

Hi,

I am trying to setup a standalone file manager using the insert file manager link in Dreamweaver.

When I click the created link (manage files) on the page, a popup page appears with a blank page.

In the index.php file that is located in webassist\kcfinder I changed

ini_set('display_errors',1);

into

error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors','on');

to see if there are any php errors, unfortunately with no success.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Some server details:

Operating system Ubuntu Linux 16.04.4
Apache version 2.4.18
PHP version 7.0.33
MySQL version 5.7.25-0ubuntu0.16.04.2
