breadcumbs

Am struggling with getting that breadcrumb working that we discussed yesterday
So I set the rewrite in the htaccess
RewriteRule ^shop/(.*)/(.*)/(.*)$ shop_product_details_s.php?perm=$3&cat=$2&parent=$1 [NC,L,QSA,T=application/x-httpd-php]
and have set up the first RS like this

$ParentBread = new WA_MySQLi_RS("ParentBread",$DBConnection,1);
$ParentBread->setQuery("SELECT * FROM productcategories WHERE CategoryParentID = 0");
$ParentBread->bindParam("s", "".(isset($_GET['parent'])?$_GET['parent']:"") ."", "-1"); //paramPermalink
$ParentBread->execute();
?>
but I cant get it to echo thecorrect parent or sub category category name if the product is empty......
