Can someone explain to me what this code is
When I break it down my logic tells me this much
<?php
# FileName="Connection_php_mysql.htm"(what is this ? Explain this code to me?)
# Type="MYSQL" (what is this ? Is this part of a script or are these 3 lines unnecessary?)
# HTTP="true" (what is this and are these just comments or part of the script ???)
$hostname_localhost = "localhost"; (this I have established is what my host gave me)
$database_localhost = "pythoni_python"; (This is the name of the database I hooked on)
$username_localhost = "pythoni_username"; (this is my username)
$password_localhost = "mypassword";(this is the password)
$localhost = mysql_pconnect($hostname_localhost, $username_localhost, $password_localhost) or trigger_error(mysql_error(),E_USER_ERROR);
?>
(and the 3 lines above tell me that if I don't use host name username and password that are correct it triggers an error message. That part of the script I understand and then it closes with php delimiters. The three lines above I suspect mean nothing and possibly should be deleted as they serve no purpose and I could not find them in any of the files for this program )
That coupled with your inconclusive documentation makes me feel very pissed off indeed !!! So much for it being a simple to hook on program that works like a charm as your blurb would have one believe.
I'm so tired of being sucked in to advertising that would have you convinced it is going to be simple, when it fact it is highly technical and sorry to say not well supported.
Not very happy Mike
