Adobe and the abandoned Extension Manager

Hi, I recently purchased WebAssists Data Bridge and MySQLi extensions, and I have a problem with Adobes abandoned Extension Manager. I recently downloaded DMXZone extensions which initially worked, and then disappeared. Servers and Behaviors also disappear from the Window panel. It's most frustrating with finding something consistent, and I just want the extensions to have a dependable platform to work.
So I now have DMXZone Extension Manager for WebAssist; ExtendStudio for other Extend Studios products (and I have no idea yet for Project Seven) - but I would like these extensions working as seamlessly as they did with Adobes Extension Manager.
Questions:
* Why do various extensions 'disappear'?
* Is there a more reliable Extension Manager for WebAssist products with Dreamweaver? Is there one central extension manager I could use with all products (or do I need several extensions?)
* Why do I not see my MySQLi Servers or Behaviours as part of the Windows panel?
