Track visitors activity on site
We want to track user activity on a public (BtoC) ecommerce site. We have a database that will accumulate the interactions. When the user is login to the site, we are able to identify them as associate the activity using sessions . However, when the user returns at a later date and just browses the site without registering, we would like to know who they are so we can track what they are looking at. How would can we accomplish this? Do we have to use cookies, or do you recommend another strategy?
