Issue retaining Session Value from page to page

On my homepage i set a session variable to a value passed to it through the url ( ?r=cityName ).

The session sets properly on the homepage, and carries over to the interior page, but if i go back to the homepage, the session is no longer holding the value. Can you look at my code and let me know what is wrong.

Attached is my homepage and interior page. I can provide links in a PM to live project.
