eCart 4/ Paypal currency issues

Hi,

I am fairly new to eCart and currently working with a static cart utilising Paypal via the Webpayment Standard option. I should mention here that I have a UK account with Paypal and have the currency set up for UK pounds in eCart

On running through a purchase the amounts are caclulated correctly through the checkout process, but then once carried over to Paypal, the currency changes to US dollars but the value is the same, for instance a purchase for £20 is carried over to Paypal as $20.

Is this an issue with eCart or Paypal?

I have attempted to locate the code which sends details to Paypal with no sucess. I would be grateful for any advice anyone can give.

Regards.
