How To - Search Form To Filter Repeat Region

I've searched this forum and can't find an explanation of how to do this. My PHP "know how" isn't strong ( which is why I purchased super suite ). My repeat region is populating correctly, but I want to give my users the ability of filtering the results with a search bar. More specifically I want my index page to list all products and then allow my users to choose which category and/or which city we sell in using dynamic dropdowns. Can you please point me in the right direction with a tutorial or a brief but detailed explanation of how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
